Andy has built custom instruments of all types, but as a musician he tends to be holding down the bottom end... He has produced a lot of bass guitars, both for his own use, and naturally for customers. Have a look at some favourite creations below.
This custom five-string bass was made for a customer to his specific requirements, using some very fine woods. It has through-neck, or body/wing construction (the neck wood extends through the body, with 'wings' either side of the neck), with the neck made of a laminate of rock maple, mahogany, flame maple, black pin strip veneer. The body has an ash core with black pin strip veneer, and a madrona burr front and back. The fretboard is ebony, and two octave (24 fret) with a 35 inch scale. Custom humbucker pick ups with Bartolini 3 way active tone controls.
Below are a selection of bass guitars built over the last few years in a number of different styles, using different woods, finishes, pickups and circuitry. Thinking about getting a bass built? contact Andy
